The prices of gold and silver on Thursday fell below the highest levels reached a day earlier in the global and local markets.
The price of 24-karat gold per tola fell by just Rs800, bringing the new rate to Rs505,562, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.
Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold dropped by Rs686, settling at Rs433,437. The price of 10 grams of 22-karat gold also declined by Rs629 to be sold for Rs397,331.

International gold prices
The downward movement was not limited to Pakistan. In the global bullion market, gold fell by $8, reaching $4,832 per ounce.
Silver prices in Pakistan
Silver prices also followed the trend. The price of 24-karat silver per tola dropped by Rs30 to Rs9,903, while 10 grams of silver also decreased by Rs25 to be sold for Rs8,490.
