Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi has directed the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) courses from class six in all government schools across the province.
He ordered the relevant departments to take the necessary measures and ensure the immediate provision of required resources. A meeting of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education was held under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister. Provincial Minister for Secondary Education, Arshad Ayub, and senior officials attended.
The chief minister stated that AI now holds a central position in future economic, educational, health and administrative systems. He added that providing AI education to the youth would equip them to meet the challenges of the future.
Afridi instructed the creation of new posts to address the shortage of teachers in schools of the merged districts. He directed that government employees showing negligence in official duties should be dismissed from their positions.
The chief minister also ordered an inquiry into tenders related to textbook printing and stationery procurement. He directed that the printing of textbooks should take place at the Government Press. Furthermore, he instructed the digitisation of all processes related to teachers’ postings, transfers, leave encashment, promotions and the distribution of scholarships in schools.
