The elder sister-in-law of late actress Humaira Asghar has claimed that the actress had been estranged from her family due to her decision to work in the showbiz industry.
In an exclusive conversation with Samaa, the sister-in-law revealed that Humaira’s family had long been discontent with her professional choices, which had strained her relationship with close relatives, including her elder brother.
“Humaira's family was not in favour of her working in the entertainment industry,” she said. “Despite that, she used to keep in touch with me. The last time we spoke was in August 2024. After that, her number was consistently switched off.”
She added that Humaira appeared emotionally distant during their last interaction, but did not disclose any specific concerns.
The sister-in-law also revealed that Humaira's elder brother — who had reportedly opposed her career path — did not attend her funeral.
The actress, known for her television performances and modelling work, passed away under circumstances that have sparked questions on social media. No official statement has been issued by law enforcement regarding the cause of death.
