In an official notice issued on Monday, the PSX informed all concerned stakeholders that the closure was in line with the public holiday declared by the Government of Pakistan.
“All concerned are hereby informed that Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited will remain closed on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, being a public holiday declared by the Government of Pakistan on the occasion of Youm-e-Takbeer,” the notice read.
It should be remembered that Pakistan responded to India's nuclear explosions on May 28, 1998, with explosions in Chagai, Balochistan. After the nuclear explosions 27 years ago, Pakistan achieved the honour of becoming the first nuclear power in the Muslim world and the seventh in the world, and all Pakistanis remember this day as Youm-e-Takbeer.
