Chairman of the Islamic Ideological Council Dr Muhammad Raghib Naeemi has strongly criticised the misuse of social media concerning sensitive Shariah issues such as marriage, divorce, and Eid observances.
Stressing the sanctity and legal framework provided by the Quran and Sunnah, Dr Naeemi underscored that these matters are governed by clear religious guidelines that should not be subjected to unnecessary public debate or ridicule.
"The issues of marriage, divorce, and iddah are firmly rooted in Shariah law, derived from our sacred texts," Dr. Naeemi asserted.
He expressed concern over the current trend of frivolous discussions and inappropriate commentary on these deeply personal and religious matters, labeling such behavior as both immoral and contrary to Shariah principles.
Highlighting the potential societal harm, Dr Naeemi warned against the dissemination of biased or hateful content on social media platforms.
"The negative use of social media to mock or criticise these issues is not only unethical but also poses a threat to national security," he cautioned.
Dr Naeemi further advocated for a balanced approach, suggesting that individuals seeking guidance on marital issues should consult qualified scholars and experts in conjunction with medical professionals.
This, he argued, would ensure a responsible and informed discourse in accordance with Islamic teachings.
