Former Pakistan all-rounder Azhar Mahmood emerged as a strong candidate for the assistant coach slot.
Mahmood has vast experience in coaching, as he remained the bowling coach of the Pakistan national cricket team from 2016 to 2019.
He had also remained a key coaching member of Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Apart from that, Mahmood is having a great experience playing county cricket and franchise cricket across the world.
Mahmood had represented Pakistan in 21 Tests and 143 ODIs.
