The price of gold in the global and local markets saw a massive dip on Friday, after a day of stability in the rates of the yellow metal.
The price of 24-karat gold per tola fell by Rs8,600, bringing the new rate to Rs519,962, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.
Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold dropped by Rs7,373, settling at Rs445,783. The price of 10 grams of 22-karat gold also declined by Rs6,759 to be sold for Rs408,649.

International gold prices
The downward movement was not limited to Pakistan. In the global bullion market, gold fell by a huge $86, reaching $4,972 per ounce.
Silver prices in Pakistan
Silver prices also followed the trend. The price of 24-karat silver per tola dropped by Rs501 to Rs8,324, while 10 grams of silver also decreased by Rs430 to be sold for Rs7,136.
