At least seven people died when a small private aircraft crashed while attempting an emergency landing in central Mexico.
According to local authorities, the aircraft, carrying eight passengers and two crew members, had taken off from the Pacific coastal city of Acapulco and encountered difficulties mid-flight.
Authorities said the pilot attempted an emergency landing on a football ground.
During the landing attempt, the plane veered off course and struck a warehouse, causing a fire that engulfed the aircraft.
Emergency services arrived at the scene, but several passengers could not be saved.
Footage of the crash, showing the aircraft’s rapid descent, has surfaced on social media.
Moreover, the authorities said an investigation had begun to determine the cause of the crash and to confirm the identities of those on board.
