The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said on Sunday that rain and snowfall would continue until December 18.
According to the Met office, Islamabad and adjoining areas were likely to remain cold and overcast, with rain and snowfall expected in upper areas including Chitral, Swat and Khyber, while smog and fog were likely in the plains of Sindh and Punjab.
In northern districts of Balochistan, the weather was expected to remain severely cold, traffic flow on mountainous routes could be affected, roads might be closed at some places, and tourists and travellers were advised to avoid unnecessary travel to hilly areas.
