Zubair Ahmed Bhat, a young Kashmiri man, has reportedly died while in the custody of Delhi Police.
According to the Kashmir Media Service, Bhat was found unconscious in a park and was pronounced dead upon arrival at a hospital. Doctors confirmed that he died due to a severe head injury.
PDP leader Iltija Mufti has alleged that Zubair’s death was not accidental, claiming he was in police custody at the time. Family members also stated that Delhi Police picked Zubair from his home and subjected him to brutal torture using iron rods.
Calls for an independent investigation into the incident are growing amid public outrage.
