To restore the economy and alleviate the power crisis, the government's stringent crackdown on electricity theft is producing significant results.
Since the operation began in September 2023, authorities have recovered a staggering PKR 122 billion, 3 crore, and 57 lakhs from electricity thieves across the country.
During October alone, officials retrieved over PKR 1 billion, 35 crore, and 3 lakhs from electricity thieves in major cities such as Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Islamabad, Multan, Peshawar, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Quetta, and other regions.
In addition, 224 individuals involved in power theft were arrested during this period.
Authorities have vowed to continue their operations until the complete eradication of electricity theft, further emphasizing their commitment to stabilizing the power sector and improving the country's economy.
