Kashmiris in the Occupied Valley have been living under the oppression of the Indian Army’s suppressive rule since the partition of the Sub-continent and nothing has been changed in their lifestyle as India deprived them of basic needs and facilities.
Modi government claimed that the development of Kashmir would be done under this measure, right after revoking Article 370, in 2019. However, the people of Kashmir are still deprived of their basic needs today.
In a special video, Kashmiri youth said that earlier there was an assembly here and the parliament used to provide a few jobs but after the abrogation of Article 370, the jobs disappeared along with the assembly.
Employment issues in Kashmir are so bad that the youngest are forced to do labor even after completing their PhD. Due to the increase in the ratio of daily wage laborers, more than half of the Kashmiri people have left or migrated to other areas.
The video also includes Budgam — a village where people earn only 5,000 to 6,000 Indian Rupee per month from labor is also deprived of basic facilities like electricity, water, and gas, so people are forced to live a life of starvation.
Sick people have to travel 2 hours to Srinagar to get a checkup as no hospital, not even a small clinic is there in Budgam.
A sole primary school is there but with the lack of necessary facilities. Kashmiris say that there is a chance that the Indian government might not even know about the existence of their village.
