The first monsoon rain lashed the port city of Karachi and turned the weather pleasant on Tuesday.
Karachi city areas including Saddar, Liaquat Abad, Jahangir Road, Quaid Abad, Malir, and surrounding areas received rain showers. The weather office predicted a rain spell to continue till night.
A monsoon rain spell is expected to enter Pakistan via India to lash all provinces. Monsoon rains already disrupted the railway network in Balochistan.
Pakistan has been battling with the effects of climate change as in 2022 one-third of Pakistan was inundated due to flood waters triggered by Monsoon rains.
In Karachi, University Road and adjacent areas received the first spell of monsoon rain. The rain also stopped the practice match of the Pakistan women’s cricket team.
