Pir Sibghatullah Shah Rashidi, also known as Pir Pagara, the head of the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) and Muslim League Functional, made bold claims regarding the recent election results, alleging that the outcome had been predetermined and sold well before the voting took place.

Speaking at a sit-in staged by the GDA at Jamshoro Interchange, Pir Pagara emphasized the alleged rigging of election results, asserting that while the winners were sitting comfortably, the losers were taking to the streets in protest.

Addressing the gathering, he revealed that despite suggestions from his acquaintances to hold meetings during the election, he refrained from doing so, opting to stay out of the political limelight.

He criticized the exorbitant spending on political gatherings, highlighting the disconnect between the political elite and the common citizen.

Expressing unwavering support for the army, Pir Pagara emphasized its pivotal role in maintaining national security and stability. He stressed that the army was the backbone of the federation, asserting that no entity other than the military could effectively manage the country.

Furthermore, the GDA chief cast doubts on the longevity of the current government, predicting its downfall within 8 to 10 months. He suggested that the army might intervene, with the judiciary providing legal cover for any emergency measures imposed.

In a surprising turn, Pir Pagara defended the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), stating his belief that the PTI founder is not a thief and implying that such accusations against him would implicate the entire political class.

Other speakers at the sit-in, including Saira Banu and Ayaz Latif Palijo, echoed concerns over electoral malpractices and corruption in Sindh, calling for a concerted effort to fight for their rights and hold powerful entities accountable.

Rashid Mahmood Soomro of the Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI) urged transparency in electoral processes, suggesting that revealing the truth about certain constituencies would clarify the situation.
