A female polio worker has been attacked with bricks on Saturday during the preparation of the polio route in the Jaranwala area of Faisalabad.
The victim has been rushed to the hospital with injuries, while authorities have launched a search operation to apprehend the assailant, identified as Shahzad, who is believed to have carried out the assault due to a previous grudge.
The incident unfolded when the woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, was engaged in her duties to help combat the crippling disease of polio.
Police, in the meantime, have launched an investigation into the incident.
