The Pakistan women's cricket team have created history by defeating their New Zealand counterparts for the first time, in the first match of a three-game T20I series.
The Pakistani team beat hosts New Zealand by seven wickets in the first T20I match played in Dunedin, which is the Pakistan women's first victory against New Zealand in nine T20I matches.
The New Zealand women's team won the toss, elected to bat first, and scored 127 runs for six wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. The Pakistani players achieved the target at a loss of three wickets in 18.2 overs.
On behalf of Pakistan, opener Shawaal Zulfiqar played a significant innings of 41 runs, while Fatima Sana claimed three wickets by giving 18 runs.
Fatima Sana was also named Player of the Match for her brilliant bowling.
The second T20 will be played on December 5.
