A ‘Qaum Ki Hayat’ Shuhada Conference was held in Multan under the auspices of Pakistan Kissan Ittehad (PKI) and civil society, with a large number of people attending.
Multan Commissioner, Pakistan Kissan Ittehad Central President Khalid Mahmood Khokhar, relatives of martyrs and civil society representatives attended the conference.
Tributes were paid to the brave personnel of the Pakistan Army, police and others who were martyred while performing their duties.
Memorial souvenirs were also presented to the families of the martyrs as a mark of respect.
Addressing the conference, the Multan Commissioner said people must perform their duties honestly and play their part in the development and progress of Pakistan.
He said the day was a renewal of the pledge, adding that the police and Pakistan Army were continuously fighting terrorism.
The Multan CPO said the city must be made a haven of peace through unity.
Khalid Mahmood Khokhar paid tribute to the families of the martyrs and said their debt could never be repaid.
Family members of the martyrs recalled their loved ones and shared memories, emotions and feelings linked to their sacrifices.
The participants pledged to play their full part in the security, peace, unity and progress of the country and to promote national solidarity.
