Russian Ambassador to Israel, Anatoly Viktorov, released an unusual recorded message on Wednesday night, emphasizing Moscow's role in the release of Elena Trupanova, 50, and her mother Irena Tatti, 73, from Hamas captivity.
Viktorov noted that the return of Trupanova and Tatty to Israel "was made possible, perhaps not exclusively, but thanks to truly great efforts by Russian diplomats and representatives of the Russian Defense Ministry."
According to him, "we were in direct contact with those Elena and Irena's fate depended on, and in the end, we achieved their release."
