Security forces have killed three more alleged foreign terrorists during the continuing Operation Shaban in Balochistan, taking the operation’s reported death toll to 79, security sources said.
The joint campaign involving the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps Balochistan and police is continuing through coordinated air and ground operations against militant hideouts.
According to sources, security forces are conducting effective operations against militants. The Pakistan Army, FC Balochistan and police are jointly participating in the operation.
Security personnel are using both aerial and ground operations to locate and target alleged foreign terrorists across the affected areas.
Three more terrorists reportedly killed
Security sources said confirmed reports had been received of three more terrorists being killed during the latest phase of the operation. With the latest deaths, the total number of terrorists reportedly killed during Operation Shaban has reached 79.
The figures have been provided by security sources and could not be independently verified.
Security sources said a total of 117 alleged foreign terrorists had been killed since July 5. The overall figure includes militants killed during Operation Shaban as well as separate intelligence-based operations conducted by security forces.
Officials say the continuing actions form part of a wider effort to dismantle militant networks and prevent further attacks in Balochistan.
Militants forced to abandon hideouts
According to security sources, the intensity of the operations forced militants to leave several of their hideouts and flee the targeted areas. Security forces subsequently searched the abandoned locations as part of the clearance operation.
A large quantity of weapons, ammunition and other equipment was recovered from the alleged militant hideouts, the sources added.
Operation to continue until threat eliminated
Security sources said Operation Shaban would continue across Balochistan until the last terrorist was eliminated.
The forces are expected to maintain pressure through intelligence-led, aerial and ground actions against remaining militant positions.
Authorities say the operation is aimed at clearing hideouts, disrupting militant movement and recovering weapons and equipment used in terrorist activities.
