Govt orders audit of fuel conservation, austerity measures

The government has decided to conduct an audit of fuel conservation and austerity measures on the directive of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

A formal notification has been issued for the review of government steps taken for fuel savings and austerity. On the prime minister’s instructions, the task of a comprehensive examination of fuel conservation measures has been assigned to the Intelligence Bureau (IB).

According to the notification, the IB will carry out a detailed assessment of the impact of austerity measures. A team of the Intelligence Bureau will submit a weekly report to the premier.
