Former federal minister and senior leader Khawaja Saad Rafique suffered a heart attack in Lahore and was immediately shifted to hospital for treatment.
Doctors have confirmed that he underwent a successful angioplasty and is now in good health.
The incident took place in Lahore, where the PML-N leader was admitted to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) for urgent medical care.
According to reports, Saad Rafique suffered a heart attack and was shifted to PIC for immediate treatment. He remained under medical supervision at the hospital, where doctors carried out necessary examinations and procedures to stabilize his condition.
Angioplasty performed, stent inserted
Doctors at PIC performed an angioplasty on Saad Rafique. During the procedure, a stent was successfully inserted to restore proper blood flow.
Medical officials confirmed that the intervention went smoothly and that the PML-N leader responded well to the treatment.
Doctors confirm stable condition
Following the procedure, doctors declared that the former minister is in good health. Hospital sources stated that he remained under observation for two days at PIC to ensure there were no complications after the angioplasty.
Saad Rafique shares update
In a statement, Saad Rafique revealed that his heart rate had increased prior to being admitted.
“I have been in PIC for two days,” he said, adding that his angioplasty procedure was carried out last night. He described the process as angioplasty and related surgical treatment.
The former federal minister also confirmed that he has now been discharged from the hospital. His recovery has brought relief to party workers and supporters across Lahore and beyond.
