The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has confirmed that all three attackers involved in the terrorist incident at Federal Constabulary (FC) Headquarters were Afghan nationals.
The inquest into the suicide attack is ongoing, with over 100 individuals interrogated so far.
Investigators have obtained CCTV footage showing the attackers’ movement from Rehman Baba Cemetery to the FC Headquarters. However, no facilitators involved in the attack have been identified so far. The attackers did not use mobile phones on the day of the incident, which has posed challenges for the ongoing investigation.
On Monday, a powerful suicide blast shook Peshawar’s Saddar area after a bomber blew himself up at the gate of the Federal Constabulary (FC) Headquarters.
Security forces responded immediately, killing two attackers and preventing them from entering the large complex. Gunfire was heard in the area as the operation unfolded.
Peshawar Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Dr Mian Saeed told the media that a suicide bomber detonated himself at the main gate of the FC Headquarters after 8:11am, triggering intense gunfire in the Saddar locality. Police and rescue teams reached the site within minutes, as forces quickly sealed off the area.
