Pakistan’s pride, the JF-17 Thunder, has emerged as one of the standout attractions at the Dubai Airshow 2025, earning global praise and securing new international interest.
Pakistan has officially signed an MoU with a friendly country for the sale of the fighter jet, further boosting its standing in the global defense market.
According to statements issued from Dubai, Pakistan signed a memorandum of understanding with a friendly nation to supply JF-17 Thunder aircraft. The name of the country and the number of jets sold have not been disclosed yet.

Officials confirmed that several other countries also expressed strong interest in acquiring the JF-17, reflecting growing confidence in Pakistan’s aviation industry.
In 2024, Azerbaijan had already signed a $4.6 billion contract to purchase the JF-17 Block III.
At the airshow, defense analysts, military delegations, and aviation experts highlighted the fighter jet’s capabilities, cost efficiency, and operational versatility.
PAF air chief holds high-level engagements in Dubai
As part of Pakistan’s participation in the event, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu held multiple important meetings with air chiefs and military leaders from friendly countries.
He engaged in detailed discussions with Lieutenant General Pilot Ibrahim Nasser Al-Alawi, Undersecretary of Defence, UAE; and Major General Rashid Mohammed Al-Shamsi, Commander, UAE Air Force & Air Defence. The meetings covered a wide range of topics, including advanced training initiatives, aerospace technology collaboration, enhanced operational coordination.

The UAE military leadership praised the Pakistan Air Force’s innovation, professionalism, and technological progress, and both sides agreed to broaden cooperation through joint exercises, professional exchanges, and long-term strategic partnerships.
JF-17 Block III becomes star of Dubai Airshow 2025
Pakistan’s exhibition at the Dubai Airshow featured JF-17 Thunder Block III, Super Mushshak trainer aircraft.
The advanced JF-17 Block III quickly became the centre of attention, with analysts and air show attendees showcasing special interest in its modern avionics, increased manoeuvrability, enhanced weapons integration, and improved radar and electronic warfare systems.
This recognition further strengthened the jet’s global reputation, earning Pakistan praise for its growing indigenous aerospace capabilities.
