A police checkpoint in Jaffarabad district, Balochistan, came under a grenade attack that injured a constable late on Monday, according to police officials.
Police said that unidentified motorcycle riders hurled a grenade at the Shahi Chowki police checkpoint, injuring Constable Mohammad Sajjad. He was taken to hospital.
Officials reported that a heavy police contingent reached the site after the blast near Shahi Chowki. The attackers used the darkness to escape. Police cordoned off the area and state that all resources are in use to arrest the suspects.
Earlier, an explosion occurred on a railway track in the Rabi Canal area within the limits of Notal Police Station in Nasirabad. Police state that the blast took place a few minutes after the Jaffar Express train passed. There was no loss of life, though the track sustained damage.
