Pakistan recorded a slight decrease of 0.16 per cent in weekly inflation, while the annual inflation rate stood at 3.95 per cent, according to the Federal Bureau of Statistics.
During the past week, prices of 11 essential items, including chicken, potatoes and onions, fell. However, the cost of 17 items, such as tomatoes and wheat flour, rose.
The price of tomatoes increased by Rs16 per kilogram, reaching Rs190. Eggs saw a rise of Rs2.75 per dozen, with the average price reaching Rs316. A 20-kilogram bag of wheat flour was being sold at Rs2,031, up by Rs15.50.
The average price of sugar also rose slightly to Rs184 per kilogram.
In contrast, the price of live broiler chicken dropped by Rs50 per kilogram, decreasing from Rs399 to Rs349. Items such as potatoes, onions, garlic, lentils, moong, chickpeas and LPG also registered lower prices.
