Punjab is set to change the uniform of its traffic police force for the first time since its reorganization in 2006.
According to police officials, the new uniform is being proposed in khaki colour, while the Punjab Police had its own uniform changed back in 2017.
A summary detailing the proposed uniform change, along with pictures of the potential new design, has been sent by Punjab inspector general of police to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for final approval.
Officials said the colour of the new traffic police uniform was carefully chosen with Punjab’s climate in mind, aiming to ensure practicality and comfort across both summer and winter months.
The implementation of the new uniform will commence once the chief minister grants approval, after which logistical preparations will begin for distribution across the province.
This marks the first uniform update for traffic police since 2006.
