The name Youm-e-Takbeer was proposed by the late Safia Ejaz, a resident of Pir Mahal, on May 28, 1998.
In recognition of her contribution, she was awarded a certificate of appreciation and a cash prize by the then Prime Minister, Mian Nawaz Sharif.
Safia Ejaz’s gesture has been remembered with pride, and her family continues to honour her legacy.
SAMAA TV’s correspondent spoke with her family, who expressed deep pride and emotion over her role in naming a historic day in Pakistan’s nuclear history.
