Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Saturday revealed that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Ameen Gandapur was invited to the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) huddle on his request emphasizing the importance of the Chief Minister’s involvement in key discussions.
Speaking exclusively in Samaa TV program Do Tok with Kiran Naz, he emphasized the need for unity and dialogue to address the current political and economic challenges facing the country.
The KP Governor said that CM Gandapur was initially excluded from the SIFC meeting but later invited at his request. He welcomed the Chief Minister’s participation, saying, “It’s a good thing that the he participated in the meeting.”
He said, “We have started the journey of breaking the begging bowl,” and added “We must work together to address our challenges, rather than resorting to force or aggression.”
The Governor Kundi also responded to comments made by Barrister Saif, saying, "If Barrister Saif is willing to meet me at my level, we can have a constructive conversation."
He highlighted the issue of load shedding as a pressing concern that requires a collaborative approach to resolve. "We must work together to address this issue, and I urge the center to take necessary steps to support us," he said.
Governor Kundi emphasized the need to resolve the tension between the judiciary and institutions through peaceful means. "The country cannot afford further conflict," he said. "We must find ways to work together and resolve our differences peacefully."
“We must resolve our issues through dialogue, not conflict,” said Governor Kundi. “The country cannot afford the clash of institutions.”
Regarding the provincial budget, he mentioned that it is not customary for provincial budgets to be presented before the federal government but expressed optimism that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's budget would receive appreciation.
Governor Kundi addresses concerns regarding taxes in merged districts and urges the Chief Minister to ensure transparency in the allocation of funds for former FATA.
Criticizing the Punjab government's swift introduction of a defamation bill, he calls for broader consultation involving political parties and media representatives. Additionally, he urges Nawaz Sharif to address his concerns through legal channels.
