Pakistan's Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf met with Admiral Hu Zhongming, commander of China's People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN), during a visit to the PLAN headquarters in Beijing.
According to a statement from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the discussions focused on bolstering bilateral maritime cooperation and addressing regional maritime security challenges.
Admiral Ashraf emphasized the significance of the Pakistan Navy in maintaining maritime peace and stability in the region.
Admiral Hu, in turn, commended the Pakistani Navy's role in joint maritime security endeavours. Both leaders underscored the importance of robust cooperation between the two navies, the ISPR added.
The visit is expected to further strengthen defence ties between Pakistan and China, the statement said.
