The International Cricket Council (ICC) has just revealed the thrilling news about the upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup.
It's going to be a cricket entertainment like never before, and here's the scoop in simple words for everyone to understand.
In 2024, the T20 World Cup will be held in two amazing places: the West Indies and, for the first time ever, the United States of America.
That's right, the USA will be hosting a global ICC tournament for the very first time!
Three fantastic venues in the USA have been picked for this cricket event.
These cricket battlegrounds are the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, Broward County in sunny Florida, and Nassau County in vibrant New York.
What's even cooler is that they're going to use something called "modular stadium technology" to build a massive 34,000-seat stadium in Eisenhower Park, Nassau County.
This means they can easily set it up and take it down, like building lego blocks, which is super handy!
But that's not all! They're going to make the seats, media areas, and fancy hospitality spots in the Dallas and Florida stadiums even bigger and better with the same modular technology.
And guess what? There are more venues in the USA where teams will practice and play warm-up matches.
One of them is the George Mason University in Washington, which is also where the Washington Freedom from Major League Cricket calls home.
The head honcho of the ICC, George Allardice, is super thrilled about this. He said, "The USA is a big deal for us, and these venues will help us make cricket a big deal there too. We want to show off the world's best cricket in the world's biggest sports market."
Now, here's the cool part: There are still more venues to be revealed in the West Indies! The excitement just keeps building up.
So, mark your calendars for June 4 to June 30, 2024. That's when 20 teams from around the world will battle it out for the T20 World Cup crown in the USA and the West Indies.
