Former National Assembly speaker and PTI leader Asad Qaiser has said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is moving towards a “grand alliance” as it is in touch with other parties as well.
Qaiser was addressing the media outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi after meeting party founder and former prime minister Imran Khan. He said he had been instructed by the former premier to meet and engage other political leaders, like Akhtar Mengal of the BNP-M.
"We have a one-point agenda that there should be a complete and permanent end to rigging in elections,” he narrated.
He also announced plans to initiate discussions with other political entities, including the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) and Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), to forge alliances and pursue their shared objective of transparent elections.
"We are moving towards a grand alliance. We want a permanent solution. Our struggle is for the supremacy of the law and the Constitution. People are requested to protest peacefully," Qaiser remarked.

Questioning the legitimacy of Maryam Nawaz's appointment as the Punjab chief minister, he expressed scepticism over her performance and alleged that people were coerced into supporting her candidacy.
The former NA speaker also asserted that the PTI wanted a level playing field for everyone and the respect of people's mandate, saying that they would chart the future course of action together. He underscored the party's reluctance to accept decisions regarding governance made behind closed doors.
He advocated for the use of technology in elections, emphasizing its widespread adoption globally.
Reiterating their commitment to lawful and constitutional means, Qaiser urged people to protest peacefully. He stressed the importance of transparent elections and the supremacy of the constitution in ensuring democracy's integrity.
