The federal government has once again invited Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to hold talks, reiterating that negotiations remain the only way to resolve the country's political issues.
The renewed invitation came during a meeting between National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq and PTI leader Aamir Dogar, which was also attended by Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry.
Addressing the media after the meeting, Tariq Fazal said the government had conveyed its willingness to hold talks at the venue proposed by PTI within Parliament House.
"The ball is now in PTI's court," the minister said, adding that the government was awaiting the opposition's response.
He noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had previously invited the opposition leader for dialogue but had not yet received a reply.
Tariq Fazal expressed hope that PTI would take the latest invitation seriously, stressing that negotiations remain the only viable solution to the country's political challenges.
The government has maintained that meaningful dialogue is essential to address political differences and move the country towards stability.
