Influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate have been arrested in the United States after British prosecutors announced a series of new criminal charges and began extradition proceedings.
The UK's Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said Andrew Tate now faces seven additional counts of rape, along with further charges related to alleged offences including sex trafficking and child pornography.
Tristan Tate has been charged with one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape, and three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation.
According to the CPS, the alleged offences took place between July 2010 and August 2017.
The brothers have previously denied all allegations against them.
UK seeks extradition
The US Marshals Service confirmed that the Tate brothers had been taken into custody, while a spokesperson for the US Department of Justice said the arrests were made under extradition proceedings.
British prosecutors said they will formally seek the brothers' extradition to face trial in the United Kingdom.
"These charging decisions followed receipt of a further file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police and bring the total number of alleged victims in this case to seven," said Malcolm McHaffie, Head of the CPS Special Crime Division.
Existing criminal case expands
The latest charges add to an existing UK prosecution announced in May 2025, when authorities confirmed that Andrew Tate, 39, and Tristan Tate, 37, would face a combined 21 criminal charges.
Those earlier allegations relate to offences said to have occurred between 2012 and 2016.
The newly announced charges significantly expand the scope of the British investigation.
The CPS said it could not comment further while extradition proceedings remain ongoing.
