Pakistan has urged all the parties to uphold the ceasefire agreement and to keep communication channels open at all times.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with EU High Representative Kaja Kallas. The two sides reviewed the rapidly evolving regional situation and developments linked to the Middle East peace and stability framework.
EU commends Pakistan over Islamabad MoU
The EU high representative expressed appreciation for the Pakistan’s sincere efforts regarding the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, while also voicing concern over recent ceasefire violations.
Ceasefire adherence stressed in EU-Pakistan talks
Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar informed the EU side of Pakistan’s continued diplomatic engagement aimed at a comprehensive framework for peace and stability in the region. Both sides agreed to maintain close contact in the future.
Bahrain FM congratulates Pakistan on Islamabad MoU
In a separate engagement, Dar also held a telephone conversation with the Bahrain's foreign minister, Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.
The Bahrain's foreign minister has congratulated Pakistan on the signing of the Islamabad MoU and acknowledged Pakistan’s constructive role in facilitating the understanding.
He stated that he would soon visit Pakistan to personally convey gratitude to the leadership for efforts towards the ceasefire process.
The deputy prime minister reiterated the Pakistan’s commitment to promoting dialogue and diplomacy for peace and stability within the region and beyond.
Dar directs strategy formulation on national interests
Dar, earlier on Saturday, directed the team to formulate strategies to address emerging challenges and to ensure the protection and preservation of national interests, alongside continued contribution to regional and global peace and security.
He chaired a meeting of senior officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday, where matters relating to upcoming official visits, regional developments, and foreign policy priorities were reviewed.
