A joint operation by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and police in Shangla’s Kabalgram area resulted in the deaths of three terrorists, including a high-profile ringleader, while three security personnel were martyred during the mission.
CTD, Elite Force, and local police conducted a targeted operation against the Indian-backed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) also referred to as Fitna-ul-Khawarij, in the mountainous terrain of Kabalgram, Shangla.
The operation aimed to dismantle the group responsible for multiple terrorist attacks, including targeting Chinese residents in the region.
The slain terrorists included Noor Islam, alias Salman, who had a bounty of Rs 5 million set by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. The ringleader of the Khawarij faction was also among those killed.
The CTD spokesperson confirmed that these individuals were on the most-wanted list due to their involvement in violent attacks across the province.
Security personnel casualties
Tragically, three police officials lost their lives during the operation. Authorities have paid tribute to the fallen officers, recognizing their sacrifice in combating terrorism and maintaining regional security.
The CTD spokesperson emphasized that the operation was a major success in dismantling a key terrorist network. “These terrorists were involved in planning and executing attacks against civilians, including Chinese nationals. Neutralizing them prevents future attacks and strengthens law enforcement’s presence in Shangla,” the spokesperson said.
