Tragedy struck in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as unidentified gunmen targeted police in Lakki Marwat and Bannu, resulting in the deaths of four officers. Authorities have launched manhunts to apprehend the attackers.
In Lakki Marwat, three traffic police officials were martyred when unknown motorcyclists opened fire while they were on duty near Sarai Norang.
The victims include Traffic Police In-charge Naurang Jalal Khan, Police Constable Azizullah, and Police Constable Abdullah.
A heavy contingent of police immediately reached the site, cordoned off the area, and shifted the martyred officials to Naurang Hospital.
Firing incident in Bannu
Separately, in Bannu’s Qafshi Khel area under the jurisdiction of Mandan Police Station, another officer, Rashid Khan, was killed in a similar attack by unidentified motorcyclists.
Authorities say the attacks appear coordinated, and security forces have intensified operations to locate and arrest the perpetrators.
Search operations underway
Police have cordoned off both incident sites and launched extensive search operations. Officials are reviewing surveillance footage and conducting investigations to determine the identities and motives of the attackers.
Local authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant while law enforcement continues the manhunt.
