Pakistan and Tajikistan have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen defence ties in order to promote regional peace and stability.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Tajik defence minister, Colonel General Sobirzoda Emomali Abdulrahim, called on the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, at the Joint Staff Headquarters on Wednesday.
During the meeting, both sides discussed a range of matters of mutual interest, with particular emphasis on the prevailing regional and global security situation. The two dignitaries reviewed measures to broaden the scope and level of military cooperation between their respective countries.
General Mirza underlined that Pakistan and Tajikistan, as brotherly nations, remain committed to consolidating and expanding their defence relations with the shared objective of fostering peace and stability across the region.
The visiting minister expressed appreciation for the professionalism and achievements of the Pakistan Armed Forces in the fields of counter-terrorism and peacekeeping.
