Security forces killed 20 terrorists belonging to the Indian-sponsored group Fitna al-Khawarij in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on November 8-9, the military said on Monday.
The coordinated actions were part of Pakistan’s ongoing counterterrorism drive under the national vision 'Azm-e-Istehkam'.
According to an ISPR statement, the first operation was conducted in the Shawal area of North Waziristan district after reports of terrorist presence.
During the engagement, troops effectively targeted the hideout, killing eight Indian-backed fighters. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from their possession. Authorities described the terrorists as members of an Indian proxy network involved in terrorism and sabotage activities inside Pakistan.
12 more killed in Dara Adamkhel encounter
In a separate operation in Dara Adamkhel district, security forces engaged another group of Fitna al-Khwarij terrorists after tracking their movements through intelligence inputs.
An intense exchange of fire followed, resulting in the deaths of 12 more terrorists. No casualties were reported among the security personnel.
Following the twin operations, sanitization activities are being conducted in both districts to ensure that no remaining terrorists or their facilitators are hiding in the area.
Security forces reaffirmed their commitment to continue the relentless counterterrorism campaign as part of “Azm-e-Istehkam”, a vision approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan (NAP).
Officials stated that the campaign aims to eliminate the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from Pakistan through joint efforts of security forces and law enforcement agencies.

The military reiterated that such operations will continue at full pace until complete peace and stability are restored across the country.
“Pakistan’s security forces remain resolute in their mission to wipe out terrorism and safeguard the nation’s sovereignty,” the statement concluded.
