Security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in the Doga area of Kurram, killing seven militants belonging to the India-backed terrorist group Fitnatul Khawarij.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during the exchange of fire, an army captain and five soldiers were martyred. The operation was launched following credible information about the presence of militants in the area. Intense fighting ensued, during which seven terrorists were eliminated.
Captain Noman Saleem Shaheed, aged 24, fought with great bravery before embracing martyrdom. He hailed from Mianwali. The other martyrs include Naik Waqas Ahmed, aged 36, from Swabi; Havaldar Amjad Ali, aged 39, from Rawalpindi; Sepoy Aijaz Ali, aged 23, from Shikarpur; Sepoy Muhammad Waleed, aged 23, from Jhelum; and Sepoy Muhammad Shahbaz, aged 32, from Khairpur.
The ISPR stated that security forces and law enforcement agencies remain resolute in their determination to eradicate terrorism. Under Operation Azm-e-Istehkam, the campaign against terrorist elements continues with full commitment and intensity.
