The Sindh government has announced a public holiday for the Hindu community across the province in celebration of the Diwali festival, according to an official notification issued on Friday.
The notification states that October 20 will be observed as a public holiday for members of the Hindu community, allowing them to celebrate the festival with traditional joy and enthusiasm.
As per the notification, the public holiday will apply to both government and non-government institutions in Sindh, ensuring that members of the Hindu community in all sectors can fully participate in the festivities.
Officials said that all administrative departments and organizations have been directed to implement the holiday in accordance with the issued notification.
“The provincial government extends warm wishes to the Hindu community on the occasion of Diwali,” the statement added.
On the other hand, the provincial government has also decided to give advance salary and pension to the Hindu employees. Hindu employees will be paid salary and pension by Oct 15 instead of Nov 1.
