The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a public warning regarding the potential spread of dengue and malaria in low-lying areas due to the severe flooding and ongoing monsoon rainfall.
According to the NDMA spokesperson, stagnant water caused by floods and heavy rain poses a serious risk of mosquito-borne diseases. The authority has urged the public to take precautionary measures, including the use of face masks and mosquito nets, to avoid exposure.
In case of illness, the public is advised to consult a doctor without delay.
Preventive guidelines issued by the NDMA aim to control the spread of dengue and malaria. The authority has expressed concern over rapid disease transmission in flood-affected zones, especially where water has accumulated due to monsoon conditions.
