Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Wednesday that the modern technology would bring a revolution to Pakistan's agriculture sector.
PM Shehbaz inaugurated the Pakistan Animal Identification and Traceability System for pets. The prime minister said the seminar on livestock was a welcome initiative.
He said Allah Almighty had blessed Pakistan with fertile land, adding that the efforts of the Green Corporate Livestock Initiative were commendable.
The prime minister said Pakistan still had a long journey ahead in cooperation with the provinces, saying that Pakistan ranked fourth in the world for milk production.
He said Pakistan had great trade potential. The prime minister said China was Pakistan's trusted friend. PM Shehbaz said Pakistan must move forward rapidly in the agriculture sector. The prime minister maintained that the progress in agriculture could strengthen the economy within a year.
He said 1,000 graduates from all four provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan would be sent to China this year.
The prime minister said merit had been compromised in the past and recommended candidates had been selected.
He said he had scrapped the entire system. The prime minister said third-party validation had been carried out to assess what the students had learned in China.
The prime minister said another 1,000 students would be sent to China, adding that the federal government would work with the provinces to advance agriculture.
He said the agriculture sector could make Pakistan self-sufficient within a short period.
