The government has decided not to approve the resignations submitted by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members from standing committees, sources revealed.
Sources divulged on Friday that the government was continuing efforts to persuade the PTI to remain part of the parliamentary process. It has initiated contact with the party’s parliamentary leadership to discuss future cooperation.
The government has asked the PTI to reconsider its policy on resignations and to participate actively in the parliamentary system. In this regard, a fresh offer for dialogue has also been extended to the party.
The government has maintained that negotiations remain the only viable solution to all outstanding issues, and it has reiterated this position in its recent communications with the PTI, according to sources.
