India releases more water into Sutlej River amid exceptionally high floods

India has released more water into the Sutlej River, causing a massive flood surge that has washed away thousands of acres of standing crops.

Water has entered villages including Rukanpura and Kothi Fatah, damaging houses and causing losses worth millions.
