Rains, flash floods and cloudburst have killed at least 256 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir's (AJK).
According to details, the PDMA has issued an initial report of the havoc caused by the flash floods and rain in various districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. 189 people killed and 21 injured in various incidents during the last 24 hours.
Out of the total number, 163 men, 14 women and 12 children were killed. According to the PDMA, 38 houses were partially damaged, whereas seven houses destroyed completely.

The incidents reported in Swat, Buner, Bajaur, Torghar, Manshera, Shangla and Battagram. Meanwhile, Bajaur and Battagram have faced more damage due to the inclement weather. The KP CM has urged the concern authorities to speed up their activities in this regard.
The PDMA said that Rs500million have been issued for the areas mostly affected by floods. Rs150million has been allocated to Buner, whereas Bajaur, Battagram, and Manshera have been given Rs100 million each. Rs50 million would be given to Swat.

The PMDA added that the emergency operation centre was completely mobilised to carry out rescue activities.
189 people have died due to deadly flooding and continuous rains in various areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as the PTI-led provincial government and Rescue 1122 continue operations in the affected regions.
Muzaffarabad saw nine fatalities and four injuries. 54 houses were destroyed due to the havoc.
The death toll from torrential rains and flash floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Buner district has crossed over 157, according to Deputy Commissioner Kashif Qayyum.
He said powerful floodwaters triggered by the storms caused multiple accidents, claiming dozens of lives.
At least 21 people have been killed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bajaur district after lightning strikes and a cloudburst hit the Salarzai area, also damaging several houses.
Local sources said the cloudburst caused water levels to rise dangerously, cutting off access routes and hampering rescue efforts. Residents are attempting to assist the victims on their own.

Rescue operations are continuing to locate more victims, with seven people still reported missing. Residents, along with rescue teams, are working to save those affected.
In Lower Dir’s Maidan Sori Makan area, the roof of a house collapsed, killing four people and injuring another four. Rescuers and locals pulled seven people from the rubble.

In Battagram’s Union Council Shamlai, lightning strikes and a flash flood destroyed six to eight houses, sweeping away 30 to 40 people.
According to Rescue 1122, ten bodies have been recovered so far. The remote location is hampering rescue operations, and locals have appealed to the government for immediate assistance.
The district administration in Shangla has confirmed the death of 23 individuals due to the flash floods. Eight people have been injured in Shangla due to the inclement weather.
Gilgit-Baltistan
12 people have been killed in Gilgit-Baltistan due to the flash floods. Diamer, Astore, Ghizer and other areas have been affected due to the flash floods.
Atta Tarar's statement
Meanwhile, Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said that the prime minister has directed the NDMA to launch the rescue operations in the rain- and flood-hit areas in AJK and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Tarar said, "The KP and other provincial governments are being regularly informed through the NDMA's advance warning system."
Health emergency imposed
On the other side, Health emergency imposed in different parts of KP. The control rooms were established in Buner, Swat, Manshera, Bajaur, Mohmand Agency and Abbottabad.
No doctors would not be allowed to take any holiday due to the inclement weather.
The doctors have been asked to give daily reports of the patients to the authority.
PDMA director general's statement
The PDMA director general, Asfandyar said that Buner district had suffered the most damage.
“The floodwaters are now moving down from the upper mountainous areas,” he said, adding that deputy commissioners in Peshawar, Nowshera and Charsadda have been placed on high alert.
Operations have concluded in several districts, but work in Buner continues and may require additional time. Asfandyar noted that authorities were making efforts to mitigate further damage as the flood current travels through the province.
He urged caution in rescue operations, considering the volatile weather conditions. “Efforts are under way to ensure the flood passes through Khyber Pakhtunkhwa without causing further destruction,” he said.
The DG said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister has expressed his determination to deliver relief to the affected population.
He reported that a helicopter carrying relief goods crashed due to adverse weather.
