The Punjab Police successfully thwarted a major terrorist attack in Dera Ghazi Khan, killing four khawarij in a decisive operation on Sunday.
According to a police spokesperson, the operation was carried out in the Kot Mubarak area, where an exchange of gunfire led to the deaths of the terrorists. A large cache of weapons was also recovered from their possession.
The spokesperson added that the terrorists had been spreading fear among the local population from various locations and had launched an armed attack on police personnel. However, due to the timely and professional response by the police, their nefarious designs were foiled.

The area was cordoned off, and a coordinated operation was conducted, resulting in significant losses for the militants. A search operation remains ongoing to ensure the arrest of any remaining suspects.
– Naqvi praises police’s bravery –
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi commended the Punjab Police for their bravery in repelling the foreign militants’ attack. In a statement, he said, “Once again, the police confronted foreign terrorists with courage and sent them to hell.”
He expressed his appreciation for the entire police team involved in the operation, stating, “We salute the police team for making this attack unsuccessful.”
Naqvi said that the brave officers of DG Khan Police have previously repelled such attacks with valour and once again, the Punjab Police responded with utmost professionalism and strength.
“I extend my congratulations to the entire police team for crushing the evil intentions of the khawarij terrorists. We are proud of Punjab Police’s brave and professional personnel,” said Naqvi.
