"I've got a lot of injuries; I think that I am ready to take this step forward; I'm very confident, and I'm prepared for what's coming," Torres stated. He emphasised that, while he doesn't need more confidence, there's room for improvement in various aspects of his game.
Torres, at 23, considers himself in the early stages of his career, and he acknowledged the support of coach Xavi Hernandez, who brought him to Barcelona and continued to provide guidance during difficult phases.
Regarding the emerging talents from Barcelona's La Masia youth academy, Torres, though relatively young himself, offers advice and support. He appreciates the potential of these young players and their contributions to the team.
Xavi believes that Torres is finding his form, noting that forwards thrive on goals, which boost their confidence. Barcelona currently leads Group H in the Champions League after wins over Royal Antwerp and Porto.
However, they face Shakhtar without key players due to injuries and suspensions. Xavi acknowledges the challenges but stresses the need to compete and aim for victory despite the absentees.
