Zimbabwe defeated Bangladesh by 32 runs in the first T20 International in Bulawayo to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
Bennett dominates against Bangladesh bowlers
Zimbabwe posted 170 for six after being asked to bat first. Brian Bennett top-scored with 44 runs from 30 balls, while Ryan Burl and Brad Evans provided a strong finish with unbeaten knocks of 30 and 19 respectively.
Bangladesh's Rana proves bowling prowess once again
Nahid Rana was Bangladesh’s best bowler, taking four wickets for 26 runs, while Mohammad Saifuddin claimed two wickets.
In reply, Bangladesh were bowled out for 138 in 19 overs. Yasir Ali was the only major resistance, scoring 54 runs from 38 balls, but Zimbabwe’s bowlers kept control throughout the innings.
Ngarva, Muzarabani lead Zimbabwe bowling attack
Richard Ngarava and Blessing Muzarabani took four wickets each to guide Zimbabwe to a comfortable victory. Ngarava was named Player of the Match for his match-winning bowling performance.
Zimbabwe, who had already won the Test and ODI series, will look to continue their strong form in the next T20 match.
