The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics reported on Friday that inflation had fallen to -2.72 per cent on an annual basis — a record low.
According to details, last week, 18 essential commodities, including chicken, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, garlic, wheat flour, ghee, and LPG, became cheaper.
Weekly inflation fell by 0.69 per cent, reaching -2.72 per cent on an annual basis.
According to the report, last week, the price of live broiler chicken decreased by Rs4 per kilogram, bringing the average price to Rs438. A 20 kg bag of wheat flour became cheaper by Rs40, with the price dropping to Rs1,626.
Sugar prices decreased by Rs0.54, and the average price last week was Rs168 per kilogram. Within the week, the price of tomatoes fell by more than Rs16 per kilogram.
The price of onion decreased by Rs6, while garlic became cheaper by Rs0.42 per kilogram. During the same period, the prices of 16 essential commodities increased.
Meanwhile, the prices of 17 items remained stable.
The price of beef increased by Rs7 and mutton by Rs10 per kilogram. Daal channa, moong dal, rice, and fresh milk prices also saw a slight increase.
