The Muzaffarabad anti-terrorism court has denied poet Ahmed Farhad's bail request, a day after the court heard arguments from both sides and reserved its decision.
Speaking to the media regarding the court's directives, Urooj Zainab, the poet's wife, stated she intends to appeal the ruling.
She told the media, "Details of why the bail was rejected were not disclosed."
Concerns about slow poisoning had prompted the ATC to order the poet's medical examination just two days prior to the hearing on his bail plea. The ATC ordered his medical examination by a group of physicians from the Abbas Institute of Medical Sciences last week.

This transpired during the hearing of Farhad's case, wherein his attorney, Imaan Mazari, asked the court to order a medical examination for the Kashmiri poet. According to Mazari, Farhad was moved from DhirKot to Muzaffarabad under several ATA sections.
Farhad, who is renowned for his rebellious writing, gained notoriety after going missing during the recent protests in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Urooj Zainab, his wife, claimed that on May 14, her husband was allegedly kidnapped from his home.
She then filed a motion with the Islamabad High Court (IHC) asking the court to identify, investigate, and prosecute those responsible for her husband's disappearance.

After the poet went missing for 15 days, Attorney General for Pakistan Mansoor Usman Awan announced on May 29 that Farhad had been arrested and was in the custody of the AJK police, in response to the IHC's orders to locate the missing poet.
The poet's family met him at the Kahori police station, outside of Muzaffarabad, after the development.
The federal government pleaded with the IHC last week to conclude the poet's rehabilitation case before he could attend the hearing in person. The IHC denied their request.
